Why This Trio?
When I created my Embracing Opacity Da Vinci Watercolor Palette, I discovered a few standout colors that didn’t fit my vision for the palette but did enhance those colors and add a lot of versatility. This Trio was created to pair with Embracing Opacity, but it also stands well on its own.
For example, Perylene Maroon adds soft rosy pinks and peaches when mixed with colors like Titan Buff, Naples Yellow, and Lilac, a rich brick red when mixed with Violet Iron Oxide, and interesting warm darks with Denise’s Grey and Stormy Blue. Indanthrene Blue offers an assortment of blues when mixed with Titan Buff, Cerulean Blue Genuine, and Cobalt Turquoise Deep, cool browns when mixed with Raw Sienna and Terra Cotta, and a striking granulating dark grey when mixed with Violet Iron Oxide. Phthalo Green lends a wide range of greens and teals when mixed with almost any color in the palette and a stunning soft grey when mixed with Lilac.
