Named after artist and engraver Henry Davy, Da Vinci Davy’s Gray Artist Watercolor is a greenish gray color that was originally made from powered slate. Reminiscent of the stone walls, slates roofs, and misty charm of the English countryside, Davy’s Gray was embraced by artists but eventually fell from favor because the original pigment could be difficult to work with.

However, Da Vinci Davy’s Gray is a modern blend that results in a color that’s just as charming as the original but, unlike the original, dilutes effortlessly and mixes easily with other colors. Beautiful on its own or useful in a palette for softening and enriching other colors, Davy’s Gray is excellent for painting landscapes, skies, and more!
