Da Vinci Cobalt Violet Deep is a perfect violet for artists who appreciate unique colors! Even in masstone, this ultra-granulating violet is highly transparent and showcases a wide range of granulation. But Cobalt Violet Deep also shines in dilution where it almost seems alive with radiantly clear color and texture.
Cobalt Violet Deep works wonderfully well in mixes and is useful for creating a wide variety of other hues and also for imparting transparency and granulation. Mixed with Phthalo Green, it will not only add texture but also produce a beautiful range of colors from true violets to teal blues. Mixed with an earth yellow like Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre, Cobalt Violet Deep creates rosy browns and bronze earthtone, while mixing it with blues or reds will create a wide range of additional palette violets.
Due to Da Vinci Cobalt Violet Deep's highly unique pigment properties, we recommend using this color straight from the tube to achieve optimum intensity.
