Da Vinci Benzimida Orange artist watercolor is a pure, one-pigment orange that reminds one of summertime sherbert or a crackling fire on a cool night. Benzimida Orange is often mistakenly characterized as a yellow-orange. However, Benzimida Orange is a true orange that keeps its coloration throughout all stages of a wash, while yellow-oranges tend to show more yellow in dilution.
Semi-transparent in masstone but highly transparent in washes and glazes, Benzimida Orange is an excellent non-toxic option to Cadmium Orange, especially for those who prefer more transparency. Benzimida Orange is also wonderful in mixes and will create a wide range of smoky violets, rich russets, bold darks, and more. When mixed with Titanium White or Titan Buff, it's useful for painting a variety of soft, peachy skin tones.
