Da Vinci Alizarin Crimson Deep Artist Oil is a dark, mysterious burgundy with a smoky transparent nature that reminds one of a full-bodied Bordeaux. In masstone and glazes, Alizarin Crimson Deep is excellent for capturing seasonal colors like summer’s black raspberries and the richest hues of autumn. When mixed with white or gray, Alizarin Crimson Deep will produce a variety of shades from soft roses to deep lavenders.
In color mixes, Alizarin Crimson Deep performs exceptionally well when creating earthy oranges, smoldering blues and violets, and magnificent darks. Alizarin Crimson Deep’s stable, lightfast nature and wide range of mixing options make this color a great choice for a cool primary in an artist palette.
